September is such a good time to re-assess everything.

Whether you have kids or not, the schools go back and everyone starts to re-engage with their work as we enter the final third of the year.

So today I wanted to cover 3 ways to reset your business and your PR so you can achieve your goals by the end of the year!

1. REVIEW WHERE YOU ARE & WHERE YOU NEED TO BE

Take 2-3 hours to do a full review of your business and your PR over the last quarter. Really dive in to where you are now, versus where you want to be. This is all about reminding yourself about why you do what you do and re-energising your mission.

Ask yourself questions such as:

What have you achieved during that period?

What were the high points and conversely the low points? (perhaps things you don’t want to do anymore).

How are you progressing with each of your goals?

Ok, so now you know where you are and where you want to be. You also know what you want to get done within a certain time period. So the next step is to look at where you need and want to be seen in order to accelerate that and support you in meeting those objectives.

Is it being seen in magazines, podcasts, being featured as an expert or perhaps collaborating with similar businesses?

PR is as simple as working out where you need to be seen and heard to get in front of the right people so you can get known.

2. REVIEW YOUR PURPOSE AND YOUR PR PLAN

Go back to your PR plan, adjust based on where you are at, look at the dates coming up and make sure you have things planned around them. You want to make sure that you are working ahead so that you can build interest and momentum in enough time.

What is coming up for your business, your industry, your region or the wider world?

Do you have any big milestones in your business? A new launch perhaps?

Are there any events or awareness days coming up that are relevant to your business?

Could any of the collaborations that you have highlighted support you in making some PR noise?

An important thing to do here is to look back at your media materials. Being able to act quickly and send the right details can really help you get the result that you want.

Is your media bio up to date?

Have you got all your latest PR coverage in your media bio and on your website?

Do you have your latest personal branding or product images in order?

3. SELECT ONE PR GOAL FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR

This will be your main area of focus for what you want to make happen. For example this could be, “I want to collaborate x business” or “ I want to be featured in the Yorkshire Post or Good Housekeeping” or even “ I want to be on 5 podcasts”

Pick one thing you want to achieve and come and share it in our Facebook group! We do weekly goal check ins in our little community and would love to have you join in for that extra support.

By simplifying it down to just 1 thing, it really gives you that clear focus. Make sure you build in some time each week to work on that goal and there is no reason you cannot achieve it!

Keeping it simple and taking action is the key to PR success.
